Riding Lessons and Horsemanship

Riders will learn the basics of horsemanship with an emphasis on safety- both on and around horses. 
         
Team Focus:

• Balance and rhythm
  
• General care
  
• Grooming techniques
  
• How to properly tack
  
• Tie a quick release knot
  
• Catch, halter, lead and stop a horse    

 
Our horses and ponies are at varying levels, from beginners to advance. Different gaits will be explained and rides use basic exercise to build experience and gain confidence.

Lessons start at $30.00 and up, in increments of 30 minutes to 1 hour & 30 minutes. There is a minimum of 3 Single Lessons per month. We strongly recommend attending two lessons per week for at least three months. For safety and compliance reasons, Riding Forms must be completed before starting lessons, no exceptions.  

Call for times and availability. Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled time. Please arrive on time. Late arrivals mean shortened lesson.  


Outdoor Adventures

We offer fun adventures for girl or boy scouts, and other group. You will enjoy a variety of outdoor fun consisting of horseback or pony riding, fishing, hiking, camping or practice shooting at the range. We are also located within 7 miles of Rock Creek Park. 

The Scouts Permission Form must be received before the scheduled arrival date. Troop leaders, please review the Equestrian Etiquette Guide with the troops before arrival.

     The schedule is set up for 3 hours & includes:
           -Discussion- 45 minutes
           -Horseback or pony riding- 1hr. & 30min.
           -Grooming/Brushing- 45 minutes
            *Times are adjustable

     Price Includes:
           -$50 Facility Fee
           -$10 per child; up to 10 children
           -$5 each additional child
           -$__ Call for group discount rates: 15 or more


  
Trail Rides

Enjoy a trail ride of scenic mountain meadows and wooded areas. Xtreme Team offers horseback riding activities the whole family will enjoy! The fresh mountain air and breath taking scenery is relaxing and safe for children and adults. Our trail rides will work for the advanced and beginner rider. All rides are accompanied by friendly, experienced trail guides. A Trail Ride Agreement and Liability Release Form must be signed and is required by all individuals before participating in the trail ride or riding a horse or pony provided by the Xtreme Team. A legal guardian is responsible for granting permission and signing required forms for participants/riders 3-17 years old.

       Prices Per Person:
              1 Hour ride= $50
              2 Hour ride= $75
              3 Hour ride= $100
              4 Hour ride= $150
              All day ride: 9am-4pm= $200
